Hong Van Supply Chain Insights

Van is a trusted expert in supply chain management with twenty-five years of experience in foreign and local large groups, known for her ability to design and implement comprehensive systems, including distribution centers and procurement systems. With a strong background in consulting on supply chain operations, covering planning, procurement, warehousing, and transportation, Van is able to deliver strategic procurement solutions and cost optimization that drive business efficiency.


Van had been working for FrieslandCampina Vietnam as Senior Sales Administrator and Logistics Manager for eleven years, where she was responsible for raw material and finished goods control, warehouse management, and distribution to the Northern distributors. This milestone provided her with valuable experience in the digital transformation of supply chain management, specifically with barcoding systems and warehouse management systems. After that, Van was Distribution Center Director and Supply Chain Director at Golden Gate Group, a well-known Vietnamese F&B group, for nine years, focusing on strategic procurement and supply chain management of restaurant chains and working globally with partners from overseas. The position of Deputy General Director at BRG Retail, a subsidiary of BRG Group, where she was responsible for supply chain management for nearly a year, enabled her to significantly improve the supply chain system in the retail sector.


Van is a member of the Science Council—the Academy of Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence Innovation (ABAII)—that is empowered by the Vietnam Blockchain Association. ABAII currently conducts Uni-tours to various universities in Vietnam for students interested in blockchain and AI programs.

Van gained five years of experience working as a supply chain expert for Gerson Lehrman Inc. (GLG) and she took part on various international projects. These projects included the USAID IPSC, a US organization focused on enhancing private sector competitiveness, the Ministry of Planning & Investment (MPI) supporting Vietnamese small and medium enterprises, Forest Ecopreneur 2024 of Bridge For Billions, and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) supporting social impact enterprises


Van is actively involved in teaching, researching, and mentoring students in top universities in Vietnam, i.e., RMIT, WAIKATO University (NEU), Foreign Trade University (FTU), Technology University (FPT), Center of French-Vietnamese for Management Training (CFVG) (NEU), and Thuong Mai University (TMU).


As the supply chain trainer and guest speaker, Van shares expertise through supply chain training programs tailored for enterprises and students. Additionally, Van frequently serves as a guest speaker at seminars, workshops, and top well-known universities, providing insights into the latest trends and best practices in the supply chain domain.


Van, driven by a passion for nurturing the next talent generation, not only imparts deep knowledge in supply chain management, but also inspires learners by sharing real-world supply chain management experiences. Her ability to bridge theoretical concepts with practical insights empowers students and professionals alike, helping them navigate and excel in the dynamic world of the supply chain. Through her engaging approach, Van motivates her audience to not only master technical skills but also develop the mindset and leadership qualities essential for long-term success in their careers.
